Full time + Casual Chefs
Standing Room is looking for chefs of all levels to join their tight-knit team for a new venue in Fitzroy North. Join us in our beautifully designed IF Architecture space set to open in July 2022.
Opportunity for future career progression and development
Spacious and light-filled kitchen
We offer a 5-day, 38hr week with set days off and great pay (No nights)
We are looking for skilled and passionate chefs, with a thirst to continue learning. You should bring your dedication, passion, initiative and drive with you to work every day. You should have confidence in your skills, be organised, and really love cooking interesting, quality food.
You should be willing to work with a young, enthusiastic team with the opportunity for you to help grow this team as the business grows with it.
You will be require to:
Stock order and manage suppliers
Manage day to day of prep and kitchen
Follow and update all food health and safety guidelines and processes
Staff, roster, motivate and lead the kitchen team
Meet and define food cost targets
You will have:
Experience in a range of different cooking environments and styles
Management experience in running kitchen teams
A deep understanding of food health & safety guidelines
A keen eye for detail and quality in all food items and food preparation processes
Standing Room is an 8 year old business with locations at The University of Melbourne, RMIT, Melbourne Central and soon to open Fitzroy North. Our Fitzroy North location will be in a slightly different direction to our exisiting stores, with the inclusion of a kitchen that will focus on a seasonal and fresh menu offering. The Fitzroy North location will also be a prep kitchen space to prepare sandwiches and other items for our existing stores.
