Signs that do not apply on a public holiday
Parking sign panels that state days of the week do not apply on public holidays.

They are effectively ‘blank’ for the purposes of public holidays, and don't have time limits or parking fees.

This includes restricted areas (indicated by red parking signs) such as clearways, loading zones and no stopping signs – but only if they state days of the week.

For example, a sign that reads ‘1P (meter) Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 7.30pm’ will allow unrestricted and free parking on a public holiday.

Signs that apply on a public holiday
Parking signs that do not state days of the week apply every day, regardless of whether it is a public holiday.

For example, a sign that reads ‘1P 7.30am – 7.30pm’ will apply as normal on a public holiday. Park legally as you usually would in these locations.

Signs with multiple panels
Parking signs may have multiple parking restrictions listed on different panels.

Check that another restriction will not come into effect during the time you intend to park. For example, ‘Bus Zone – all other times’.
